It carries the idea of breathing deeply as a physical desplay of one&amp;#39;s feeling usually sorrow compassion or comfort, &amp;amp; was used once before in 2 sam 12:24 meaning being consoled over the death of an infant child.  This study painted such a beautiful &amp;amp; yet painful picture of a loving God grieving at the site of the angel issuing punishment over Israel when the angel&amp;#39;s hand reached the threshing floor of Araunah the Jebusite...God &amp;quot;gasped&amp;quot; in grief because that is the place where David had built an altar &amp;amp; where God&amp;#39;s temple would be built, &amp;amp; even before that, Abraham had gone to sacrifice Isaac &amp;amp; God provided an alternate sacrifice...God &amp;quot;gasped&amp;quot; &amp;amp; grieved at that place of mercy and told the angel &amp;quot;enough&amp;quot;... and the angel withdrew his hand.  I dunno.
